Heart Disease Detection

Christ Hospital's Doctors On Video - Heart CT Scan

The Christ Hospital Heart CT Scan for Heart Disease Detection

Seventy million Americans have heart disease and don’t know it. At The Christ Hospital, we believe early detection is key. By performing a Heart CT Scan, a quick, non-invasive imaging test, doctors at The Christ Hospital can see if there is calcified plaque build-up in the arteries – which can be an early sign of heart disease. It’s one of the most advanced heart scans of its kind, offering higher accuracy and detail than other traditional CT scans. The heart scan is quick and painless, and it’s available at The Christ Hospital for just $99.

To schedule an appointment for a $99 Heart CT scan, call The Christ Hospital at 513-585-2668.

A heart CT scan, also known as cardiac calcium scoring, is a safe, non-invasive screening (without any IVs) to determine if you have calcified, atherosclerotic plaque within your arteries. This plaque contains calcium and the imaging screen is able to detect the calcium. The screen then gives you a score of how much calcium you have. It is important to identify any plaque build up as it may block your artery and lead to a heart attack. This screening is performed with our state-of-the-art, 64-slice CT scanner, which records images of the heart and blood vessels to determine if you have any early indicators of heart disease calcium build-up. The participant does receive radiation from the CT scan, equal to the amount of radiation you would normally take in over the course of one year.

With these screening results, you can identify your risk for cardiovascular disease and begin to make lifestyle changes that will greatly reduce the chances of suffering a heart attack, stroke or other forms of heart and vascular disease.
